Building an inpatient treatment centre in Singapore has been a long-standing dream of mine, both personally and professionally. After more than three decades in mental health, my deepest passion remains helping people recover from addiction and reclaim meaningful, connected lives.

As one of the founders, I created The Winslow as a safe harbour. A place where people are treated with respect and dignity, and where hope can once again take root. I have brought together a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, counsellors, and recovery coaches to provide holistic and integrated care. Today, I am honoured to walk alongside individuals and families as they navigate the often challenging but rewarding journey of recovery.

Earlier in my career, I played a leading role in establishing Singapore’s National Addictions Management Service (NAMS). In addition, as Chief of Addiction Medicine at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), I was deeply involved in shaping the national approach to addiction treatment in Singapore. These experiences laid the foundation for the integrated model of care we continue to develop at The Winslow today.

Beyond clinical work, I serve on the Board of WE CARE Community Services, a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting individuals in recovery through community-based programmes and peer support. I remain actively involved in teaching and training through the National University Health System (NUHS) and continue to speak at regional and international conferences.

My clinical focus includes substance and behavioural addictions such as alcohol and drug use, gambling, gaming, and impulse control disorders, but at the heart of my practice is a deep belief in treating the whole person. I see each client as more than a diagnosis, and I believe healing is possible when care is delivered with compassion, curiosity, and respect.
