I’ve always believed that recovery is about connection – being seen, being heard, and knowing that you’re not alone. That’s what drew me to peer support.

I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, stuck in cycles of shame or silence, and unsure where to turn. My own healing journey has been shaped by experiences with addiction, struggles with focus and learning growing up, and finding my place in the world as a queer person.

I started attending 12-step groups back in 2019 while living in New York City. It changed my life. The honesty, support, and sense of shared humanity I found there are things I now try to offer to others. Since coming back to Singapore, I’ve continued this journey through regular meetings and service, and I’ve also trained professionally as a peer support specialist.

Before The Winslow, I studied medicine and earned my degree from St. George’s University. Although I didn’t take the path of becoming a practising physician, my background helps me bridge personal experience with a deeper understanding of what people go through emotionally, mentally, and physically.

These days, I support individuals facing all forms of challenges, whether that’s anxiety, addiction, shame, or feeling like they just don’t fit in. I’m especially passionate about creating safe, affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ folks to talk openly about the things we’re so often taught to hide.

Outside of work, I keep my hands busy with crocheting, social deduction games, and include some dragon boating on the weekends for a bit of joy and movement.

To me, peer support isn’t about fixing people. It’s about walking alongside them, holding space, and reminding them that healing is possible, even if it doesn’t look perfect.
